Join us for the 1st Annual Unity Gala as we celebrate Juneteenth with an evening of elegance, fellowship, culture, and community.

This special event will bring together community leaders, supporters, and guests from across Central Texas to honor the legacy of Juneteenth while celebrating unity, progress, and opportunity for future generations.

Featured Speaker - Dr. Dwight D. Watson
Associate Professor Emeritus of History
Texas State University

Dr. Watson is a distinguished historian whose areas of expertise include African American History and the Civil Rights Movement. His research explores the impact of race and law on United States history, and he has authored numerous publications examining civil rights, segregation, and African American experiences in Texas.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Watson has educated generations of students while helping preserve and share the stories that shape our understanding of freedom, equality, and justice.

The Juneteenth Foundation, Inc. is honored to welcome Dr. Watson as the featured speaker for the 1st Annual Unity Gala.

Hibiscus – Juneteenth Flower Symbolism

  • Black: The Black skin of the African American peoples.

  • Red: Blood shed by Africans who died in the fight for Liberation and the shared blood of the African American people.

  • Yellow: Many African countries added this color to represent mineral wealth and UNITY.

  • Green: Growth, prosperity, and the fertility of African American People.
